WordPress, I like my current theme just fine …

… and I’m ready for the silly-ass message on my new-post screen suggesting that I try a new one to GO AWAY.

  1. I think you can turn that message off by looking at “screen options” at the top of the dashboard. But are they telling you that your theme isn’t compatible with WP 3.2.1? If that’s the case, consider upgrading or it might break. OTOH, if it’s an ad type thing, try the screen options and uncheck what you don’t want to see.

  2. Then again, you’re using WordPress.com and I failed to notice that. My above suggestion may not work; I’m not sure if they give you screen options there.

  3. The “screen options” are context-specific — on the comments page, it lets you change how many comments per page you can see, for example. Doesn’t seem to have anything to do with the notice.

And, yeah, I’m not hosting my own site yet because hosting costs money (I have free hosting on Amazon for a year for a class project, but I probably won’t keep it when the year is up).
