Actor Denis Leary, learning during a guest announcing stint that the Red Sox’ first baseman is Jewish, goes off on Mel Gibson and, later in the clip, shouts out to the New Orleans Fire Department. Pretty amusing.


  1. That was very funny! Big-city background jumps right out no matter how many years I’ve been away – “we’ve got Jamison” was hilarious. “Close to being Irish Catholic” brought back memories. It’s OK to talk about ethnic differences and laugh out loud. When they’re in fun spirit and good cheer and positive? It’s growing up in the city (almost any city in the northeast will do).

    Ethnic differences, varieties of cultures, diverse religions and races, make up how I was raised. Tolerance was never discussed; it was a way of life before PC was invented.

    Heck, that was funny.
