Whew. I thought he was going to need surgery.

Much to my dismay, Hooper has been saying for a  while that his favorite singer is Corbin Bleu. He also likes Bowling for Soup’s “1985,” which, although not exactly heavy-metal thunder, is at least clever. But other than enjoying Blink 182’s “All the Small Things” (over … and over … and over …) on the commute to day care back in the day, he has never shown much enthusiasm for anything his dad would consider rock ‘n’ roll.

But in the past two days, when we’ve been in the car he has been urging me to “put it on the station that plays HIGH rock ‘n’ roll” and has expressed his enthusiastic approval for, among other works, AC/DC’s “For Those About to Rock,” CCR’s “Bad Moon Risin'” and GNFNR’s “You Could Be Mine.” But his current favorite? Metallica’s “Enter Sandman.”

I guess the part of his brain devoted to music has hit puberty.
